A long-haired brown tabby, regal in every season.
Princess is a long-haired brown (classic) tabby with white โ a swirling mahogany-and-charcoal coat, a bright white locket at the chest, and crisp white "socks" on her paws. Everything about her build hints at Maine Coon ancestry, whether purebred or a domestic-longhair mix: the tufted, lynx-tipped ears, the substantial lion-like ruff, those big expressive eyes, and above all the spectacular plume of a tail that she carries like a banner. Maine Coons are among the largest and most good-natured of domestic cats โ the so-called "gentle giants."
Unlike a kitten-to-cat story, Princess arrives in these photos already grown and fully magnificent. What the years reveal instead is the constancy of a beautiful cat: the coat thickening and thinning with the seasons, the same knowing green-gold gaze, and a personality that is equal parts dignified lady and goofy floor-roller. Her coloring โ a warm "brown mackerel/classic tabby" โ is the most ancestral of all cat patterns, the look of a cat that always seems to belong by a sunny window.
